Breezy With Passing Showers, Nicole Pounds Bermuda

passing showers

South Florida will be breezy with passing showers on Thursday, while to our northeast, dangerous Hurricane Nicole is pounding Bermuda.

passing showersHere at home, we’ll see some early east coast showers and early showers and storms in the Keys, followed by sun, clouds, passing showers on the breeze in spots. Thursday’s highs will be in the mid 80s in Miami-Dade, Broward, and the Keys, and in the upper 80s in Naples and Marco Island. Thursday won’t be a good beach day, with a high risk of dangerous rip currents at the Atlantic beaches and a red tide alert for beaches along the Collier County coast. Some coastal flooding is possible in spots at high tides.

Friday will feature plenty of sun, some late afternoon clouds, maybe a stray shower, and highs in the mid 80s along the east coast and the upper 80s along the Gulf coast. A high risk of dangerous rip currents remains at the Atlantic beaches.

Saturday will bring more clouds, some passing showers, and highs in the mid to upper 80s. Look for more sun and fewer clouds on Sunday, along with highs in the mid to upper 80s. We’ll see some early east coast showers, sun and clouds, and highs in the mid 80s on Monday.

Faith Based Events

083822w5_nl_smHurricane Nicole has gone through rapid intensification and was within 100 miles of Bermuda early Thursday. At 5 am, Nicole was located near 31.1 North, 65.8 West, and was moving north-northeast at 15 miles per hour. Maximum sustained winds were 130 miles per hour. Even though some weakening is forecast, Nicole is a serious threat to Bermuda as it passes over or very near the island.
