Breezy Autumn Monday

autumn monday

image3South Florida will celebrate the Columbus Day holiday on a breezy autumn Monday. Look for lots of sun, a few clouds on a strong ocean breeze, maybe a quick shower at some east coast locations, and highs in the mid 80s around the region. The only downside is the high risk of dangerous rip currents at the Atlantic beaches, which will continue into Tuesday.

Tuesday will bring pleasant morning lows in the low 70s (and a few degrees cooler along the Gulf coast), a bit more clouds and a gentler breeze, and highs mostly in the mid 80s.

Moisture will begin to return to the area on Wednesday, but don’t look for lots of showers. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s on Wednesday.

Thursday features sun, clouds, maybe a quick east coast shower in spots, and highs in the mid to upper 80s.

Our South Florida style fall weather continues on Friday, with sun and clouds, a few passing showers, and highs in the mid to upper 80s.

autumn mondayWhat’s left of Post Tropical Cyclone Matthew is moving away from the U.S. coast and will soon dissipate, so the only feature we’re tracking in the tropics right now is Tropical Storm Nicole. At 5 am Monday, Nicole was located near 25.0 North, 65.2 West, and was moving north at 7 miles per hour. Maximum sustained winds were 65 miles per hour, but Nicole is forecast to regain hurricane strength before it moves near or over Bermuda later in the week.
