Back to Work Showers and Maybe a Storm; Watching the Tropics

By Donna Thomas, SouthFloridaReporter.com Meteorologist, Aug 17, 2015 – South Florida will see passing showers on Monday, and we can’t rule out a brief storm. After some morning showers, highs will reach the low 90s on Monday, and more showers will blow in on the sea breeze during the afternoon, while storms mostly form to the west of us.

We’ll see some showers on the breeze on Tuesday, along with highs in the low 90s. Look for more showers on Wednesday. while temperatures again reach the low 90s.

The forecast features mostly sun and clouds with just a few showers on Thursday and Friday, with highs in the low 90s once again.

In the tropics, we’re watching the wave that is now a few hundred miles southwest of the Cape Verde Islands. It is entering an area that’s favorable for development, and the National Hurricane Center says it will likely become a tropical depression during the next few days.
