
Having found Listeria monocytogenes in a production plant, Pinnacle Foods Inc. initiated a recall Friday of all best-by dates of a variety of flavors of Aunt Jemima and Hungry Man branded frozen pancakes, waffles and french toast.
The recall is nationwide in the U.S. and includes more than a dozen products. One product is being recalled in Mexico. The recall includes products sent to grocery retailers and foodservice operators.
“No illnesses have been reported,” according to the recall notice. “The products are being recalled as a precautionary measure given the health and safety of our consumers is our top priority. Pinnacle Foods initiated the recall after testing indicated the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in the plant environment. We are working in coordination with the Food and Drug Administration on this recall.
“All affected distributors and retail and food service customers are being notified and the affected products are being removed from store shelves.
