Afternoon Storms – Again!

South Florida will see afternoon storms again on Sunday, this time mostly driven by the sea breezes.  Sunday will feature sun and clouds to start.  Then the east coast metro areas will see showers and storms develop during the early afternoon, with activity shifting inland and to the Gulf coast later in the day.  Highs on Sunday will be in the low 90s.

After some overnight showers, Monday will bring sun, clouds, and afternoon showers and storms during the afternoon.  Monday’s highs will be near 90 degrees along the east coast and a bit warmer elsewhere.

Tuesday will continue the pattern of early east coast showers, followed by good sun, building clouds, and afternoon showers and storms.  Tuesday’s highs will be in the low 90s.

Wednesday will feature sun and clouds, with afternoon sea breeze showers and storms along both coasts.  Wednesday’s highs will be in the low 90s.

Faith Based Events

Thursday’s forecast is for more of the same — sun, clouds, and late-day showers and storms.  Highs on Thursday will be in the low 90s.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
