Tuesday features a mix of sun and clouds, along with periods of showers and storms. Waves of heavy rain over the weekend have saturated much of the east coast metro area, so the flood watch remains in place there through Tuesday evening. Some afternoon storms could be strong, bringing additional heavy rain, plus gusty winds and dangerous lightning. A high risk of rip currents remains along the Atlantic coast. Highs on Tuesday will be in the mid 80s.

Wednesday will bring more sun, a few clouds, and mostly afternoon showers and storms as our weather pattern shifts to a more typical rainy season regime. Wednesday’s highs will be in the mid to upper 80s.
Thursday will feature mostly sunny skies, followed by passing showers and storms in the afternoon. Thursday’s highs will be in the upper 80s.
Look for plenty of sun and a few clouds to start on Friday. Then we’ll see passing showers and storms in the mid to late afternoon. Friday’s highs will be in the upper 80s.
Saturday will be another day with mostly sunny skies much of the day, with showers and storms in spots during the afternoon. Highs on Saturday will be in the upper 80s again.
In the tropics, that area of disturbed weather that ruined our holiday weekend has a low chance of becoming a tropical depression as it lifts northward over the Florida peninsula and eventually into the Atlantic this week. While this weather feature isn’t expected to spend much time centered over the Atlantic before it reaches the Carolina coast, we’ll keep an eye on it.
