South Florida’s Friday will be pretty much a washout, thanks to moisture from that tropical wave we’ve been tracking all week. And the weekend doesn’t look much better. Friday features clouds and periods of showers and storms, with downpours at times. Look for an inch or more of additional rain. Highs on Friday will be in the mid to upper 80s.
Saturday will be another cloudy and rainy day, with passing showers and storms. Saturday’s highs will be near 90 degrees.
Look for early showers, afternoon storms, and mostly cloudy skies on Sunday. Sunday’s highs will be near 90 degrees.
Some showers and storms will linger on Monday, but we’ll also see sun attimes. Monday’s highs will be in the low 90s.
Tuesday will feature a more typical summertime mix of sun, clouds, and periods of showers and storms. Highs on Tuesday will be in the low 90s.
In the tropics, that wave that’s responsible for our weekend washout is not expected to develop, and it will merge with a front off the southeast U.S. coast on Sunday. In the central Atlantic, the other wave we’ve been watching has a medium chance of developing into a depression by late in the weekend. But whether or not that happens, computer models indicate that this system isn’t likely to strengthen much before it reaches the Lesser Antilles early in the workweek. We’ll continue to watch this wave closely, since this is a “Cape Verde” wave and that’s the type of tropical activity we’re most likely to see in August and September…
