Winter is back in South Florida, as colder air moves in on Thursday and will linger through the weekend.

Look for drier conditions, a cool breeze, and afternoon temperatures just reaching the low 70s.

Friday morning will be chilly, with lows in the low 50s, and the day will feature sun, a cool breeze, and highs near 70 degrees.

Saturday morning will be cold, with lows ranging from the upper 40s to the low 50s but feeling even colder. Afternoon temperatures will stall out in the unseasonable low 70s.

Faith Based Events

Sunday will be a bit warmer, with highs in the low to mid 70s.

It will feel more like South Florida on Monday, as afternoon temperatures climb into the upper 70s on a day with sun and clouds.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
