Winter arrives in South Florida but it won’t hang around very long. The front we’ve been watching moves in on Friday, bringing some showers to parts of the Keys and a cool and windy morning to all of us. Then we’ll see a day of sun, clouds, gusty winds, and highs topping out in the low 70s. An elevated risk of dangerous rip currents is in place at the Atlantic beaches on Friday and into the holiday weekend.
Saturday morning will be chilly, with lows mostly in the mid to upper 50s and in the low 60s at the immediate coast and in the Keys. Then the final day of 2016 will bring sun, clouds on a strong breeze, a high risk of rip currents, and afternoon highs in the mid 70s. We’ll welcome 2017 with temperatures in the 60s around midnight.
New Year’s Day will be warmer, with a mix of sun and clouds and highs in the upper 70s.
Sun, clouds, and a few showers are in the forecast on Monday, as our afternoon temperatures rebound into the low 80s.
Tuesday will be another mix of sun and clouds with a few showers around, and highs will be in the low 80s.
