Windy Days Ahead

By Donna Thomas, SouthFloridaReporter.com Meteorologist, Oct.18, 2015 – Windy days are ahead for South Florida, beginning Sunday. After refreshing morning lows near 70 degrees, Sunday features clouds and periods of sun, some passing showers, and a building breeze turning quite windy as a front sweeps through late in the day.

image15The risk of dangerous rip currents will be high from Sunday through Tuesday. Showers will be around overnight, and Monday will be windy again, with passing showers and highs in the low 80s.

Tuesday will be yet another windy day, with some showers at times. Tuesday’s highs will be in the mid 80s. Winds will gradually taper off on Wednesday and Thursday, but both days will still be breezy with a few showers passing by. Highs will be in the mid 80s both days. Friday will be not as breezy, mostly dry, and just a bit cooler, with highs in the low to mid 80s.

In the tropics, the area of disturbed weather near the Yucatan is moving west-northwest and should reach the Bay of Campeche by Monday. The National Hurricane Center gives the disturbance a low chance of developing into a depression over the next few days.
