We love living in Hollywood, but there are some people who only know the Hollywood thousands of miles away in California. Imagine that! As much as we love our Californian cousins, we think it is about high time that our Hollywood, Florida, gets the attention it deserves. In Hollywood, Fla., you will find the most incredible galleries, parks and attractions that could rival any other top city.

From the beautiful beaches and the boardwalk to the warm people and things to do, there are so many things to love about Hollywood. and

Here are some of our favorites:

Florida has a superb reputation for its wonderful beaches, and the beach in Hollywood must be a favorite! It was even voted by Fodor’s as being the “Best Beach for Families.”

If you love to think pink, then you must check out the intriguing Flamingo Gardens, a botanical garden and everglade wildlife sanctuary. Yes, there are flamingos, along with lots of other incredible wildlife in the wildlife sanctuary. These include otters, panthers, eagles, alligators, bobcats and some pretty peacocks. For nature and gardening lovers, you can enjoy exploring over 3000 species of exotic and rare, sub-tropical, tropical and native plants and trees.

One of our favorite places to take a lunchtime stroll is Anniversary Park. It is the perfect location for a walk or even for taking in some shade under the trees to read a book.

Hollywood’s most famous brothers and sisters includes actor Josh Gad, actress Jayne Atkinson, legendary baseball player Joe DiMaggio, pro golfer Mike Donald, pro-basketball player Steve Blake, video gamer Billy Mitchell and pro-poker player Michael Mizrachi, who won the World Series of Poker Players Championship three times.

One of the best things about living in Hollywood is that there are always some exciting events happening. Even if you have been there before, it is recommended that you pay regular visits to the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood, which is a must-see for culture buffs. The exhibitions do changeup, so it is worthwhile heading back there on a regular basis to see what is new.

There are always some excellent bands/acts in town and events coming up, such as Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience, which takes place at the Hard Rock Event Center in Hollywood this month.

There are also fantastic theater shows that are worth a visit, too. One of our favorite theaters is the Hollywood Beach Theater, which features one of the best murals in the state across it. What we love about this theater the most is that it is super laid-back. You can show up in your flip-flops and listen to live music, hang out on the beach and watch the waves crashing on the shore.

We are also lucky to have the likes of the Boulevard Heights Amphitheater and the ArtsPark Amphitheater in Hollywood, too — both of which hosted some incredible shows over the years.

If you are looking for a show that has something different, why not check what´s about to happen on the Seminole Hard Rock venue in downtown Hollywood? It recently hosted the Moneymaker PSPC tour, starred by Chris Moneymaker, who won the World Series of Poker Main Event some years ago as a ranked outside amateur and who is now helping people realize their dreams of becoming a poker champion.

Love art-house cinema? Who doesn’t? We are lucky enough to have Cinema Paradiso on our doorstep here in Hollywood, which is home to a broad range of art-house films and independent movies, plus, it is in one of the coolest buildings in the city!

There are so many incredible things to do in Hollywood, Florida. There is always something exciting going on, and whether you love nature, parks and the great outdoors or prefer a thrilling night out, you are sure to find something that you will love.
