Tropical storm warnings are in effect for portions of the Florida panhandle westward to the Alabama/Mississippi border and for portions of coastal Louisiana. A tropical storm watch is in effect from the eastern portion of the Florida panhandle to the Big Bend area. And a storm surge watch is in effect as far south as Clearwater, Florida.TD # 16 will speed up and begin affecting portions of the Gulf coast on Friday.
