A key aspect to the Cadillac resurgence is something most consumers overlook: lightweight construction; serving the dual purpose of procuring better fuel economy and reaping improved handling. Take the all-new 2017 XT5, for example.

It’s nearly 300 pounds lighter than the SRX it replaces yet offers more than 3” of increased rear-seat legroom on a wheelbase that’s 2” longer.  That packaging efficiency is achieved in a vehicle with an overall length, width and height fractionally smaller than that of the SRX.  The weight drop comes with no compromise to body rigidity and crash performance and outperforms the XT5’s key German rivals.  “XT” stands for Crossover Touring and this 5-seater plays in the heart of the midsize luxury field with pricing which begins at nearly $40,000 and lands north of $63,000 for the mightiest model.

The XT5 is available in four trim levels, including a range-topping Platinum model, which includes unique interior and exterior trim and materials and combines them with the highest technology features. All-wheel drive is optional on Luxury and Premium Luxury models, and is standard on Platinum.

The new 3.6-liter V6 from the rest of the Cadillac car lineup lands here too, with a peak output of 310 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque.  It features a fuel-saving 4-cylinder mode and Stop/Start technology, working through an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Faith Based Events

Highlighting the interior technology is a new Rear Camera Mirror System, using a video display enhancing rear vision by 300%.
