Like millions of others Thursday, you were probably glued to the testimony by former FBI Director James Comey to the Senate Intelligence Committee. Except for a statement from the president’s personal attorney, there was no comments or tweets, from President Trump. Until this morning.

In a tweet shortly after 6am today, Trump called James Comey a “leaker.”  Here are some of the early headlines and reports. Most of the reports will center around Comey’s testimony.

ReutersTrump calls ex-FBI director Comey a ‘leaker’ after testimony

U.S. President Donald Trump called James Comey a “leaker” on Friday, the day after his former FBI director accused him in congressional testimony of trying to quash an investigation and lying.

“Despite so many false statements and lies, total and complete vindication … and WOW, Comey is a leaker!” Trump tweeted in his first comments since the Senate Intelligence Committee hearing on Thursday.

PoliticoComey’s devastating indictment of President Donald Trump

The fired FBI director’s aw-shucks demeanor did little to mask his barbed accusations. He presented himself as anything but a fearsome G-man. He wondered what he might have done differently “if I were stronger.” He confessed that he had hustled his adversary off the phone in “kind of a slightly cowardly way” to avoid refusing his demands. He was “worried very much” about being in the mold of his most infamous predecessor, J. Edgar Hoover, by seeming to hold his superior hostage over salacious allegations about his sex life.

James Comey’s sworn testimony Thursday did not, by itself, heighten President Trump’s risks of confronting obstruction-of-justice charges or articles of impeachment.

But it did inflame ferocious new rounds of political mud-slinging in the wake of Comey’s vivid account of a president who pressed him to conclude a federal probe; privately and improperly went to bat for a former White House adviser who is in serious legal jeopardy; and “defamed” Comey when he feared the FBI’s Russia investigation would damage him and stall his policy agenda.

Donald Trump broke a nearly two-day silence on Twitter Friday morning to slam James Comey as a “leaker” the day after the ousted FBI director’s blockbuster testimony before Congress.

Trump claimed “total and complete vindication” from the Senate Intelligence Committee’s hearing, in which Comey accused him of “lies” and requesting the FBI end a criminal investigation.
