
Tropical rains will linger over South Florida on Wednesday. Look for periods of showers and storms, heavy downpours in spots, and highs near 90 degrees.
Drier air will begin to move in on Thursday, but a few early showers and an inland storm or two are in the forecast. Thursday’s highs will be near 90 degrees.
We’ll be on the dry side on Friday, and with highs in the low 90s and little or no rain, it will feel like the low 100s.
A few early showers and an afternoon storm or two will return this weekend, and highs on both Saturday and Sunday will be in the muggy low 90s.
Tropical Storm Earl has strengthened in the western Caribbean and is expected to reach hurricane strength before making landfall in Belize or the southern Yucatan coast on Thursday. At 5 am Wednesday, Earl was located near 16.1 North, 83.7 West, and was moving west at 14 miles per hour. Maximum sustained winds were near 65 miles per hour.
Earl is already bringing heavy rain and gusty winds to portions of Honduras and Nicaragua.
