Todays' Showers South Florida will see some April showers today, not to mention lots of unseasonable heat. After some patchy early fog on a warm Sunday morning, look for a mix of sun and clouds, with showers developing along the sea breeze during the afternoon and early evening. Highs on Sunday will be in the muggy upper 80s, with higher readings possible in the western suburbs.

Look for a few stray showers on a strong breeze on Monday. We’ll also see good sun with a few clouds. Highs on Monday will be in the mid to upper 80s.

Tuesday will be breezy as well, and a few showers will interrupt a mix of sun and clouds. Tuesday’s highs will be mostly in the upper 80s.

Wednesday’s forecast includes a few showers and some clouds. Wednesday’s highs will be mostly in the mid 80s, with higher readings in the western suburbs.

Faith Based Events

A front approaches on Thursday, and we’ll start off with good sun and a few clouds, followed by building clouds and some showers late in the day. Highs on a muggy Thursday will be near the 90 degree mark.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
