For the second time this summer, fish has made Tiger Woods’ life as a restaurateur a little harder.
State inspectors descended on Woods’ Jupiter restaurant for the second time since early June, and again cited the place, named The Woods Jupiter, for a “high priority” violation involving fish.
According to the second inspection’s file, fish served raw or almost raw in the fancy Intracoastal-side eatery was not fit for consumption.
This time, hog snapper served in a ceviche dish and salmon served undercooked by request from a patron had not undergone parasite destruction!
The inspector ordered the destruction of the leftover fish, according to the inspection.
A second high priority violation in the report involved kitchen staff not washing their hands.
As a whole, though, The Woods – regulars celebrated its first anniversary Wednesday – did pass the second inspection with a total nine violations, not too shabby in a state where it’s not unusual to find eateries with three times as many no-nos.
In early June, the golfer’s place was already cited for storing of uncooked seafood like scallops in temperatures more than twenty degrees higher than the state-mandated 41 degrees.
Woods, who might be looking for new golf equipment now that Nike is getting out of the duffing business, opened the business last year to great local fanfare.
And now that he is in the midst of yet another career hiatus, the former Doral winner is seen at the American cuisine-serving eatery quite often. He lives about five miles north in Jupiter Island.
The manager on duty didn’t return a call for comment.
