Thursday Is Still Feeling Like Summer

  Thursday features good sun with clouds at times, until showers and storms pop up on the breeze during the afternoon.  The Atlantic beaches will see an increasing risk of dangerous rip currents on Thursday and through the weekend.  Highs on Thursday will be near 90 degrees.

Friday will bring a mix of sun, clouds, and showers on the gusty breeze.  Minor flooding at high tide is possible this weekend along the east coast, and dangerous rip currents will be a threat as well.  Friday’s highs will be mostly in the upper 80s.

Saturday will be mostly sunny with afternoon showers and storms.  Breezy conditions will continue along the east coast.  Saturday’s highs will be in the upper 80s.

Faith Based Events

Sunday will feature periods of sun alternating with showers and storms.  Sunday’s highs will be in the upper 80s.

Look for a mix of sun, clouds, showers, and a few storms on Monday.  Highs on Monday will be in the upper 80s.

In the tropics, we’re watching a wave over the Yucatan that is entering the Bay of Campeche.  This feature has a low chance of developing into a depression in the western Gulf of Mexico during the next couple of days before it merges with a cold front.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
