Cool Today

South Florida will be sunny and cool today as we’re back into a more typical winter weather pattern. After a decidedly cool start, Sunday features plenty of sun and a few clouds on the breeze. A high risk of dangerous rip currents remains in place at the Atlantic beaches on Sunday through at least Monday evening. Highs on Sunday will be in the mid 70s.

Monday morning will be cool again, with lows ranging from the mid 50s to the low 60s. Then we’ll see a mix of sun and clouds, with some showers popping up during the evening. Monday’s highs will be in the mid to upper 70s.

Look for sun, clouds, and some showers on Tuesday. Tuesday’s highs will be mostly in the upper 70s.

Another front approaches on Wednesday, and ahead of it, we’ll see a mix of sun and clouds with passing showers at times. Wednesday’s highs will be in the upper 70s.

Faith Based Events

The front moves to our south overnight, and Thursday will see plenty of sun and just a few clouds on a rather chilly breeze. Highs on Thursday will only make it into the low to mid 70s.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
