Sunny And Breezy

South Florida will be breezy and mostly sunny on Friday, with just the chance of a quick shower or two. Look for Friday’s highs to reach the mid 70s as breezes build and the risk of dangerous rip currents remains high (and will last at least into Saturday).

Saturday morning lows will be in the low to mid 60s, and the day features sun, a few clouds, and highs in the upper 70s. Sunday will be a mostly sunny day, with a mild morning and afternoon temperatures in the seasonable upper 70s.

Rain chances increase on Monday, as highs creep into the low 80s.

Tuesday will be warm and humid, with highs in the low 80s as a front approaches. Storms will develop later on Tuesday and could last into Wednesday, with heavy rain and gusty winds possible.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
