Sun, Clouds Before Storms Show Up. Closely Watching The Tropics

storms showSun and clouds will be around South Florida on Saturday before storms show up. After some overnight showers in spots, Saturday will feature an early mix of sun and clouds, followed by afternoon storms forming along the sea breeze. Highs on Saturday will be in the upper 80s.

 

storms showThe forecast for Father’s Day includes plenty of clouds, some passing showers, and afternoon storms. Sunday’s highs will be in the mid to upper 80s.

Look for clouds, passing showers, and storms at times on Monday. Monday’s highs will be in the upper 80s.

We’ll see a shift to some coastal showers, sun and clouds through much of the day, and late afternoon storms on Tuesday. Highs on Tuesday will be in the upper 80s.

Look for more of the same on Wednesday — an early shower or two, sun and clouds, and late afternoon storms. Wednesday’s highs will be in the upper 80s again.

storms showIn the tropics, the area of disturbed weather off Central America that we’ve been watching is slowly moving northwestward. It has a high chance of developing into a tropical depression over the next 5 days. The wave in the central Atlantic also has a high chance of developing by midweek as it tracks generally westward.

Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
