winds
NWS

South Florida will be breezy on Tuesday, and plenty of clouds will be around. Look for some sun, maybe a quick shower in spots on the strong ocean breeze, a high risk of dangerous rip currents which will continue at local beaches throughout the week, and afternoon highs mostly in the upper 70s.

Wednesday Forecast

Wednesday will see breezy conditions, morning lows near 70 degrees, some sun, clouds with maybe a passing shower, and highs near the 80 degree mark.

Winds will be blustery on Thursday and Friday, as highs reach the low 80s and shower chances increase slightly. More widespread showers are in the forecast for Saturday, along with highs in the low to mid 80s.

The winter summary for South Florida has been released, and to no surprise it shows that we were wet and stormy. Here are a couple of notable statistics:

Faith Based Events
winds
NWS

Wettest winter on record at the following locations: Miami, Miami Beach, Moore Haven, Hialeah, Homestead, The Redland, Ortona and Oasis Ranger Station. At several other locations it ranked in the top 3. The number of days with measurable precipitation was well above the average, as indicated in the image below.

– A total of 7 preliminary confirmed tornadoes in January and February. Three were rated EF-1, three others EF-0 and one unrated.

– Overall it was warmer than normal, but the record-breaking December heat skewed the numbers toward the warm side. Taking into account only January and February, average temperatures were below the 30-year normal.
