Stormy Weather Returns This Afternoon; The Sun Makes Cameo Appearance Sunday

South Florida will still see stormy weather on Thursday as tropical moisture continues to stream in. After some overnight showers, Thursday will bring plenty of clouds and some morning showers, followed by afternoon storms. Flooding will continue to be a problem in some areas, as any additional rainfall adds to what we’ve already received over the last few days. Highs on Thursday will be mostly in the mid 80s.

Friday features showers and clouds again, with a few storms in spots. Friday’s highs will be in the upper 80s.

Look for cloudy skies and passing showers on Saturday, with some afternoon storms in spots. Highs on Saturday will be in the mid 80s.

A bit of sun will return on Sunday, but clouds, showers, and some storms will be around most of the day. Sunday’s highs will be in the mid to upper 80s.

Monday will bring some sun, lots of clouds, some passing showers and afternoon storms. Highs on Monday will be mostly in the mid 80s.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
