StormySouth Florida will see another stormy afternoon on Sunday, but we’ll transition to a drier pattern during the workweek.  In the meantime, Sunday features some early est coast showers, followed by sun and clouds most of the morning.  Then storms and showers return in the afternoon and early evening.  Periods of heavy rain, dangerous lightning, and gusty winds are possible with some of the storms.  Highs on Sunday will be in the upper 80s.

Weekly Outlook: It’s summer in South Florida with scattered to numerous storms each day this upcoming week.

After overnight showers, Monday will be another day that starts off quiet and turns stormy in the afternoon.  Monday’s highs will be in the upper 80s.

We’ll see sun, clouds, showers, and afternoon storms again on Tuesday.  Tuesday’s highs will be in the upper 80s.

The pattern will begin to transition on Wednesday, with sun, clouds, and less widespread afternoon storms.  Wednesday’s highs will be in the upper 80s.

Faith Based Events

Thursday will feature a few early east coast showers, sun and clouds through much of the day, and then afternoon storms, especially in the interior.  Highs on Thursday will be near 90 degrees.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
