Sizzling Hot Forecast Through The Weekend

South Florida will be sizzling hot on Friday and the upcoming weekend. Friday features hazy skies, just the chance of a shower or inland storm, and highs in the low 90s will feel 10 degrees hotter.

sizzling hotWe’ll see a few early showers in spots on Saturday, and some afternoon storms will be back. Highs will be in the sticky low 90s.

Sunday will see a few early showers, followed by more widespread afternoon storms (especially inland), and highs will range from the low to mid 90s.

Look for some early showers again on Monday, along with afternoon storms in spots, and highs will be in the low 90s.

Faith Based Events

Tuesday will be breezy with a few coastal showers and scattered afternoon storms. Tuesday’s highs will be in the low 90s.

Earl has weakened over land and has just a chance of maintaining its strength a while longer as it nears the Bay of Campeche. At 5 am Friday, Tropical Storm Earl was located near 18.4 North, 92.8 West, and was moving west-northwest at 12 miles per hour. Maximum sustained winds were near 40 miles per hour. Earl should dissipate this weekend over the mountains of Mexico.

She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
