South Florida’s weather is simply great on Sunday. After a rather cool start in the morning, our weekend wraps up with a day of good sun and just a few clouds on an ocean breeze. A moderate risk of dangerous rip currents remains at the Atlantic beaches on Sunday, and rip currents will continue to be a concern into the workweek. Highs on Sunday will be in the low 80s.

Smoke from ongoing wildfires is affecting portions of western county this morn. Be prepared for low visibility if out driving.

We’ll be off to a seasonably mild start on Monday, with lows mostly in the mid 60s. Then the day features a nice mix of sun and clouds. Monday’s highs will be in the low 80s. A weak front moves through late on Monday, so we’ll see some passing showers at the Atlantic coast during the night.

Tuesday morning could see a few lingering showers, but mostly the day will bring a mix of sun and clouds. Tuesday’s highs will be in the upper 70s.

Faith Based Events

Wednesday’s forecast includes plenty of sun and maybe few clouds at times. Wednesday’s highs will be in the low 80s.

Thursday will bring plenty of sun, a few clouds, and maybe a quick shower, mostly along the east coast. Highs on Thursday will be in the low 80s.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
