Showers Later Today As We Begin Our Transition Into The Rainy Season

South Florida will see some showers on the breeze today as we transition into the rainy season. After a warm and muggy morning, Thursday features a mix of sun and clouds, with passing afternoon and early evening showers on a strong ocean breeze. A high risk of dangerous rip currents remains in place at the Atlantic beaches on Thursday and into the weekend. Highs on Thursday will be mostly in the upper 80s.

transitionFriday will be breezy, with a mix of sun and clouds and passing showers, mostly in the afternoon. Friday’s highs will be in the upper 80s.

Breezy conditions will continue on Saturday, with afternoon showers and maybe a storm in spots. We’ll also see a mix of sun and clouds. Highs on Saturday will be near 90 degrees.

We could see scattered afternoon storms along with passing showers on Sunday. Sunday’s highs will be in the upper 80s.

Faith Based Events

Look for more of the same on Monday — a mix of sun and clouds with afternoon showers and storms. Monday’s highs will be in the upper 80s.

She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
