Showers And Storms Remain In The Forecast

Showers and storms are in the forecast for South Florida again on Monday, but we’ll see a return to our typical summertime pattern soon.  In the meantime, Monday features periods of showers by late morning, with storms and additional showers developing during the afternoon.   Highs on Monday will be near 90 degrees.
Tuesday will bring some sun, clouds, and afternoon showers and storms as July comes to a close.  Tuesday’s highs will be near 90 degrees.
Wednesday will feature a mix of sun and clouds to start, with a few early east coast showers.  Then showers and a few storms will form along the sea breezes in the afternoon, with most of the coverage in the interior and along the Gulf coast.  Wednesday’s highs will be in the low 90s.
Look for sun and clouds to start on Thursday, followed by some afternoon showers and storms, especially along the Gulf coast and in the interior.  Thursday’s highs will be in the low 90s.
Friday’s forecast includes sun, clouds, and late-day showers and storms.  Highs on Friday will be in the low 90s.
The tropics are quiet right now.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
