Rough Weather on Saturday

storm warning

South Florida will deal with rough weather on Saturday as Potential Tropical Cyclone # 18 moves by. Look for periods of showers in the morning, starting with the Keys and working northward by mid morning. Then the afternoon will be very stormy, with periods of heavy rain and gusty winds. We could see strong to severe storms through the overnight hours as the tropical system makes its closest approach but remains to our southeast. Some of the passing storms could be strong, with gusty winds and heavy rainfall. Highs on Saturday will be near 80 degrees. We’ll see some lingering showers and maybe a few storms on Sunday as a front moves through. Then look for clouds and a bit of sun. Sunday’s highs will be in the low 80s. Monday will be a nice and cool fall day, with good sun and a few clouds. Monday’s highs will be mostly in the mid 70s. Tuesday will bring good sun and a few clouds — then the evening will be pleasantly scary for Halloween parties or trick-or-treating. Highs on Tuesday will be in the upper 70s. Wednesday will kick off the month of November with a mix of sun and clouds and maybe a stray shower in spots. Wednesday’s highs will be in the low 80s.

Potential Tropical Cyclone # 18 is expected to strengthen a bit before being absorbed by the front that will cool us down and dry us out. At 5 am Saturday, Potential TC # 18 was located near 19.6 North, 84.2 West, and was moving north at 10 miles per hour. Maximum sustained winds were 35 miles per hour. There are no watches or warnings for land areas in Florida as of early Saturday, but waters off the Keys and the coast of South Florida will experience tropical storm conditions into Sunday.
