By Terri Lynn, SouthFloridaReporter.com, Managing Editor, Dec. 10, 2015 – Holiday travel is upon us! For people flying to visit family or taking a well deserved vacation the travel process is a tedious one. For many it means finding a parking spot, long lines inside the terminal and enduring the rigors of TSA.
One inside, most of us make a bee line for the restroom. This year, passengers at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) are enjoying a more enhanced traveling experience thanks to an aggressive restroom attendant program implemented by Sunshine Cleaning Systems, Inc. (Sunshine).
“Passenger traffic at the airport will be increasing week to week due to the holiday rush from both cruise ship and holiday vacation travel,” said Bruce Walker, Project Manager at Sunshine. “We are taking extraordinary measures to ensure that passengers are welcomed with a smile and spotless, well-maintained restrooms.”
Sunshine closely monitors FLL’s daily flight schedules and dispatches cleaning staff to the various terminals and concourses accordingly. The company’s performance is graded by the Airport Service Quality program (ASQ) with the restrooms being one of the two graded areas.
At FLL, Sunshine will field an additional 28 employees during peak arrival and departure times with its proven restroom attendant program. All employees will continue to wear their neat navy blue uniforms and, of course, big smiles.
“It’s hard to fathom, but many of the airport restrooms receive more than 350 passengers each hour,” said Walker.
