Plenty of Sun, Cooldown on the Way

Monday features plenty of sun and a few clouds at times.  A high risk of dangerous rip currents remains at the Atlantic beaches.  Highs on Monday will be in the low-80s.

Tuesday will bring mostly sunny skies around South Florida.  Tuesday’s highs will be mostly in the mid-80s on the mainland and in the low 80s in the Keys.

Wednesday will feature clouds, showers, and a storm or two in spots as tropical moisture is pushed into South Florida by a strong front.  Wednesday’s highs will be mostly in the low-80s.

Thursday morning will be seasonably cool, with lows in the 60s.  Even with plenty of sun during the day, temperatures on Thursday will top out in the upper-70s in the East Coast metro area and the Keys and in the mid-70s along the Gulf Coast.

Faith Based Events

Friday’s forecast calls for a very cool start, with lows in the upper-50s.  Then look for lots of sun and a few clouds, but not much of a warmup.  Highs on Friday will be in the mid-70s.

In the tropics, Sara came ashore in Belize on Sunday morning and is moving slowly across the Yucatan.  Sarah is expected to become extra-tropical and dissipate Monday evening, but the threat of flooding and mudslides continues in the region.  Elsewhere, the tropical Atlantic is quiet.

She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
