Rocker Billy Joel, who has always favored waterfront living with mansions in Miami Beach and up the coast in Manalapan, is shifting his real estate focus further west.

Joel just bought a huge horse ranch in Wellington, and he even started showing up at celebrity-heavy equestrian functions in the horse-crazy village.

And, a source close to his latest purchase says, it’s all about making fourth wife Alexis Roderick happy!

“This purchase was all about her,” the source said. “She owns horses. She rides. She wanted a place for herself.”

Faith Based Events

According to Palm Beach County property records, the singer of Uptown Girl and Allentown paid $3.5 million cash for five acres at 14190 Palm Beach Point Boulevard on Jan. 25.

The property was described in real estate listings as a “beautifully maintained five-acre farm” a short distance from Wellington’s Winter Equestrian Festival, a three-month event that has become one of the country’s largest equestrian events.
