Passing Showers on Wednesday

By Donna Thomas, SouthFloridaReporter.com Meteorologist, Oct. 7, 2015 – South Florida will see some passing showers on Wednesday. Look for slightly higher humidity levels, sun and clouds, and showers blowing through, mostly in the afternoon. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s.

Showers will be in the forecast again on Thursday, with a few on the ocean breeze in the morning and more on a weak sea breeze during the afternoon. Thursday’s highs will be in the upper 80s. More moisture will work its way in on Friday and Saturday, so scattered showers and some afternoon storms will develop on both days. Friday and Saturday will also feature periods of sun and highs in the upper 80s. A front is forecast to move through late on Saturday, and right now it looks to be strong enough to set up a pleasant Sunday of much lower humidity levels, plenty of sun, and highs in the mid to upper 80s.

two_atl_5d0Hurricane Joaquin was racing east-northeastward at 32 miles per hour early on Wednesday. At 5 am, Joaquin was located near 40.5 North, 49.4 West, with maximum sustained winds of 75 miles per hour. It will rapidly lose its tropical characteristics and weaken to a gale-force system embedded in the north Atlantic. Elsewhere, the wave east of the Lesser Antilles is encountering unfavorable winds and has a low chance of developing into a depression during the next 5 days.
