South Florida will see showers and storms on a building ocean breeze on Saturday, caused by far-away Subtropical Storm Leslie. The day starts with a few east coast showers, and then scattered showers and storms will pass through the area. A high risk of dangerous rip currents is in place at the Atlantic beaches on Saturday. Highs on Saturday will be in the upper 80s right at the east coast and the low 90s elsewhere.
Sunday will again bring showers and a few storms on the strong ocean breeze. Sunday’s highs will be in the upper 80s at the Atlantic coast and the low 90s everywhere else.
October begins on Monday with some early east coast showers, sun and clouds, and afternoon sea breeze showers and storms. Monday’s highs will be near 90 degrees.
Tuesday will feature those early east coast showers, sun and clouds, and passing afternoon showers and a few storms, especially in western areas. Tuesday’s highs will be near 90 degrees.
Wednesday’s forecast includes sun, clouds, and some passing showers. Highs on Wednesday will be near 90 degrees.
In the tropics, Subtropical Storm Leslie is back but will remain over open waters. At 5 am Saturday, Leslie was located near 35.2 North, 50.3 West, and was moving southwest at 7 miles per hour. Maximum sustained winds were 45 miles per hour. Leslie will linger in the middle of the Atlantic before moving northeast into oblivion. In the eastern Caribbean, Kirk has degenerated into an open wave, but will still bring heavy rains to portions of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
