South Florida will be breezy but mostly dry on Thursday. The day starts with a seasonably mild morning, and it features sun, some clouds on a brisk breeze, a moderate risk of dangerous rip currents at the Atlantic beaches, and maybe a quick shower in spots. Highs on Thursday will be in the low 80s along the east coast and the mid 80s elsewhere in South Florida.

Friday’s lows will be near the 70 degree mark, and we could see a quick early shower. Then the day will bring good sun and a few clouds on the breeze. Watch out for dangerous rip currents at the Atlantic beaches. Friday’s highs will be mostly in the mid 80s.

Saturday kicks off a hot weekend, with sun, clouds, and a few passing showers in spots. Saturday’s highs will be in the mid to upper 80s.

Sunday will feature sun, clouds, breezy conditions, and afternoon and evening showers and storms as a front moves in. Sunday’s highs will be in the mid 80s.

Monday’s forecast includes good sun, a few clouds, and maybe a stray coastal shower. Highs on Monday will be near 80 degrees.

She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
