Parrish’s baby chickens before the arrivals of 15 more this week

As Broward Country Property Appraiser Lori Parrish prepares for her weekend fundraiser at her new Southwest Ranches home, she discovered she had a population challenge:

Fifteen more chickens were born on Wednesday.

The new arrivals add to the uniqueness for Broward political contributors fortunate to attend a future Parrish fundraiser.

Most political receptions are thrown in taverns that reek of urbanity. Places where the barkeeps mix oh-so-hip concoctions like Bat Out Of Hell — rum, blue curacao and Red Bull.

Parrish’s fundraisers have real bats!

Her new digs is an arcadian oasis of her lush orchid collection, tropical plants and wildlife in an increasingly wall-to-wall Broward.

The growing family of chickens now has 34 members.  There is also a screech owl, two bats and assorted other beasties. She has plans to buy two little goats for her granddaughter Kaylee in the summer.
