Mark and Jessica Zuckier, owners of the new Five Star Painting of Aventura & Hollywood Beach, are obsessed with customer service.

“Mark is on every job site ensuring the job is done well, on time, on budget, and that the customer is 100% satisfied,” Jessica says. “One of the things we’ve noticed about the industry is that some independent painters can be unreliable, cut corners, use lower-quality paint, and in many cases do not have insurance. We are proud to be a locally owned company. We want to establish a long-term relationship with our clients, plus we provide a two-year warranty on our labor. When you hire Five Star Painting of Aventura & Hollywood Beach, you get a professional who manages the job every step of the way to ensure a seamless experience. If there’s an issue, the customer does not need to take on the stress.”

Why are the Zuckiers so focused on pleasing their customers? Because launching this Five Star Painting franchise is their American Dream.

Finding their best life in Florida

The Zuckiers moved from Toronto, Canada, to Florida in April 2024 to provide a better future for their children.

Faith Based Events

There is so much more opportunity here in Florida, and we wanted to provide that opportunity both for ourselves and our kids,” Jessica says.

Securing the necessary visas was challenging and involved lengthy delays. “It took us almost a year to complete the whole process. We had some delays along the way and ended up moving later than anticipated. Luckily, we were super organized, and our belongings were already packed. Once we got our visas, we moved within a week!”

The move itself wasn’t devoid of stress, either. “We had to do everything from buying new cars, getting our Florida driver’s licenses, moving into a new home, placing our kids in new schools, and finding our way around our new neighborhood,” Jessica remembers.

Thankfully, coming to America was still the right decision. Today, the Zuckiers are thrilled with their new home.

“Things have been amazing here!” Jessica says. “We absolutely love it! There are so many wonderful things to do, and the people are very friendly. We’ve been incredibly happy all around, and settling in was much easier than I thought it would be.”

However, starting their business in Florida has required them to overcome many challenges.

Overcoming obstacles to launch their successful business

“We were brand new to Florida and had to start from scratch,” Jessica explains. While she and Mark had been well-established community members in Toronto, moving to America meant rebuilding from nothing.

Many franchise owners launch their businesses in their hometown and can generate leads through family, friends, and their personal network,” Jessica says. “We didn’t have that. All of our customers and connections have come from cold-calling, knocking on doors, networking, and a lot of marketing.

Despite the challenges, the Zuckiers have quickly integrated themselves into the fabric of the community. Mark has joined the Aventura chapter of Business Network International (BNI) and has become involved with the Aventura Chamber of Commerce. Jessica has been an active member of the American Marketing Association since 2019, currently serves as President-Elect of its South Florida chapter, and recently became a Big Sister for the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Broward County.

Jessica describes herself and Mark as “partners in crime.” Mark has over 20 years of sales experience, including running his own e-commerce business for most of that time. Jessica, who has over 20 years of marketing experience, is currently working at an organization nearby, and manages all the marketing and advertising for the business.

“We discuss our business on evenings, weekends, lunch hours, and any time we can,” Jessica says. “Although there’s been a bit of juggling timewise on my end, we make it work. We both feel so excited and blessed to be doing this, and to be doing this together.”

Give your property a fresh coat of paint

If you have property in Aventura, Hollywood Beach, Hallandale, Sunny Isles, Surfside or Bal Harbour that could benefit from a fresh coat of paint — whether commercial or residential, inside or outside — the Zuckier’s new Five Star Painting of Aventura & Hollywood Beach location is there to serve your needs. As an added bonus, they also work to support and hire painting crews from the local community.

“As franchise owners, we are 100% invested in ensuring our customers have an incredible experience,” Jessica says. “We hold ourselves accountable for everything and provide competitive, honest pricing. We are local business owners who truly care and want to see our customers happy.”
