PALM BEACH — John Lennon‘s old Palm Beach vacation home at 720 South Ocean Boulevard has just been sold for $23.1 million — 36 years after the former Beatles star and singer of Imagine and Jealous Guy bought it for $750,000!
The 1919 Addison Mizner-designed crib, dubbed “El Solano,” was sold by island long-timers Alan and Christine Curtis in an off-market deal, according to Palm Beach County property records.
Lennon and wife Yoko Ono bought the house for Florida vacations in February 1980 through Pentacles Realty, the couple’s New York City-based real estate company.
The seller was famed socialite Brownie McLean, who’s often considered the grande dame of Palm Beach society.
Lennon didn’t get to spend much time in the house: He was gunned down and killed near his New York City condo on the Upper West Side just 10 months after his big purchase!

I just wonder who owned it after his death. It is doubtful that it has been sitting vacant. It has likely changed hands a few times…
