To honor JetBlue’s Philanthropy Month efforts, the airline is encouraging customers and even more crewmembers to participate in acts of service.
Individuals can enter by uploading a photo or video highlighting their community service and sharing their volunteer efforts using #JetBlueForGood. The contest began on November 1, 2016. Winners, one customer and one crewmember, will be selected daily until November 30, 2016.
Join the JetBlue For Good Crew by volunteering or giving to a variety of causes and upload photos or videos to JetBlueForGood.com.
Need inspiration? Here are few of JetBlue’s favorite charitable partners and initiatives:
- Donate TrueBlue points to help those in need – Hurricane Matthew left a path of devastation across the Caribbean and the Southeast region, particularly in Haiti, the Bahamas, Turks & Caicos, Cuba and the Florida coast. As residents continue to rebuild, JetBlue is helping support relief efforts. Consider donating to the American Red Cross, AmeriCares and Concern Worldwide. These organizations have response teams providing on the ground assistance in affected areas. JetBlue will contribute $100,000 to these relief efforts. Customers can donate TrueBlue loyalty points to AmeriCares and Concern Worldwide. JetBlue will match up to 500,000 TrueBlue points . Visit https://trueblue.jetblue.com/web/trueblue/charity for more information or to donate to relief efforts and a variety of other causes.
- Encourage the next generation of aviators – The JetBlue Foundation is a company-sponsored private foundation and 501c3 non-profit organization. Its mission is to ignite interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programs and place aviation top-of-mind as a career choice for students from traditionally underserved communities. Donate to STEM-focused initiatives including aviation-focused schools and programs that the JetBlue Foundation supports. Click here. for more information on the JetBlue Foundation.
“JetBlue is spreading good deeds, one flight and one volunteer initiative at a time,” said Icema Gibbs, JetBlue’s director of corporate social responsibility. “JetBlue for Good combines giving and purpose by encouraging our customers and crewmembers to participate in at least one act of service. Imagine the impact we can make if we all participate in at least one act of kindness.”
Throughout November, there will be several activations and opportunities focused on giving including World Kindness Day on November 13, National Philanthropy Day® on November 15 and #GivingTuesday on November 29.
