Scottish beer company BrewDog has launched what it calls the world’s first crowdfunded beer hotel. Buzz60’s Nick Cardona has more.
Some people will go to great lengths for a cold beer. They’ll elbow through crowds three rows deep at the bar. They’ll venture from the apartment all the way to the bodega in the dead of winter. And they might even go to the Great Midwest. Scottish punk brewer BrewDog built a beer hotel in Ohio, and it opens its doors August 27.
The DogHouse hotel sits next to BrewDog’s hulking OverWorks, the brewery’s new sour beer facility and taproom, in Columbus, Ohio. (Columbus is the hot place to be right now, by the way.) There are 32 rooms and eight suites, some of which allow dogs to stay overnight. Each room comes equipped with a minibar stocked with various cans of BrewDog; there’s even a tap, if draft is more your style. A King room’s standard rate is $162 a night; the BrewMaster suite starts at $284 a night.
