PALM BEACH — It didn’t take satellite shock jock Howard Stern very long to get the hang of Florida living!

After spending more than $10 million in renovations for his already perfect $52 million-mansion on North County Road, the SiriusXM radio host is now protecting his investment.

Palm Beach County real estate records show Stern just obtained a permit to install some

heavy duty hurricane shutters to cocoon up the 18,600-square-foot beachfront crib for winds and debris impact of up to 276 mph.

Faith Based Events

The permit shows Stern hired West Palm Beach shutter maker Armor Screen for the work.

While no one at the company is returning calls, we’re told by a source in Stern’s entourage that the protection for 601 North County Road at will set him back nearly $200,000.

Never mind that there hasn’t been a hurricane in these parts for more than decade!

This being Howard Stern, meanwhile, we’re not talking about any old hurricane shutter that someone needs to screen into the floor every time. No siree bob! We’re talking about remotely controlled roll ups on all of the 15-foot windows!

Not that he’d care: Stern just signed a new deal with SiriusXM rumored to be worth at least $80 million a year for five years.
