Hot Sun and Some Gulf Coast Showers

Wednesday features plenty of sun and a few clouds in the East Coast metro area.  The Gulf coast will see lots of sun with some clouds and showers in the afternoon.  We can’t rule out a stray evening storm near the Gulf Coast.  The Keys will see mostly sunny skies.  Highs on Wednesday will be in the mid-80s at the Atlantic coast and in the Keys, while the rest of South Florida will top out in the upper-80s.

Thursday will bring lots of sun to the East Coast metro area and the Keys, while the Gulf Coast will see lots of sun with a few afternoon storms that could linger into the evening.  Thursday’s highs will be mostly in the upper-80s on the mainland and the mid-80s in the Keys.

Friday will feature mostly sunny skies and some afternoon showers and storms in spots on the mainland.  Some late night storms are possible in the East Coast metro area.  Look for mostly sunny skies in the Keys.  Friday’s highs will be in the upper-80s on the mainland and the mid-80s in the Keys.

On Saturday, the mainland will see a bit of sun, plenty of clouds, and periods of showers and storms. The Keys will see a mix of sun, clouds, and some showers. Saturday’s highs will be in the mid-80s.

Faith Based Events

The forecast for Mother’s Day calls for some sun, more clouds, and periods of showers and storms.  Highs on Sunday will be in the mid-80s.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
