Cadillac describes their V-Series cars as “the emotive core of the brand and the apex of the Art and Science design philosophy.” “A bold sense of arrival, serious performance, seamless integration of technology and precision craftsmanship.”
Enter the first-ever 2016 Cadillac ATS-V, offered in coupe and sedan bodystyles. It’s also the first V-Series with a Twin Turbo engine, the segment’s highest-output 6-cylinder rated at 464 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque, enabling a blistering 0-to-60mph time of 3.8 seconds. It’s backed by a 6-speed manual with Active Rev Match and no-lift shifting or a paddle-shift 8-speed automatic – both with launch control.
Gas mileage is rated at 19mpg in combined driving. It’s the smallest and lightest V-Series ever with 25% greater structural stiffness designed for more precise handling and more direct steering responsiveness. Brembo brakes, Magnetic Ride Control suspension, selectable driving modes and the 5-setting Performance Traction Management system make the ATS-V as comfortable on the track as it is on the road.
Available Carbon Fiber and Track packages take aerodynamics and mass optimization to higher levels with items such as more aggressive body panels and a low mass battery. A Performance Data Recorder records HD video with data overlays of driving experiences. Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires tie it all together. Inside, 16-way RECARO performance front seats and a unique instrument panel cluster highlight the performance-focused cabin.
The sedan is priced from $61,460 while the coupe starts at $63,660.
