Heat Today Brings Heat Exhaustion Warning

South Florida will be feeling the heat today, even with passing showers and storms. After a muggy morning, Tuesday will bring hot sun, building clouds, and passing showers and storms along the sea breeze. Tuesday’s highs will be in the low 90s, with higher readings well inland. But it will feel about 10 degrees hotter, so stay hydrated and out of the sun.

 

Wednesday features some early showers in spots, hot sun and building clouds, and a few afternoon storms, especially in the western suburbs and well inland. Highs on Wednesday will be in the sweltering low 90s.

Thursday will see some tropical moisture move in, so look for more widespread showers and storms. Thursday’s highs will be in the low 90s.

Faith Based Events

Look for passing showers and storms on Friday, along with periods of sun. Friday’s highs will be in the low 90s.

Saturday’s forecast includes early showers in spots, periods of sun, building clouds and developing storms in the afternoon. Highs on Saturday will be in the low 90s.

She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
