When you buy a pair of designer brand sneakers the last thing you’d expect is to get them dirty right? Wrong! Buzz60’s Maria Mercedes Galuppo has more.

Shhh… don’t tell your gran about the price!

You know when you get a pair of new white sneakers and then your kid runs over to you at the playground and stomps a big muddy footprint on your toe? And then you know when you leave that kid by the side of the road with a sign that says, “Free kid. Clumsy but otherwise in good working order”?

Faith Based Events

Well. Gucci just answered all your problems because now you can keep the kid and the dirty sneakers AND still look hella stylin’.

How? Gucci is selling pre-dirtied suede sneakers.

Hand-crafted scuff marks

They’re called the Screener sneakers. The trademark red and green stripes on the sides and Gucci logo on the tongue are complemented with beige suede that looks like it got caught in the rain and perforated used-to-be-white leather that’s all scuffed and s**ty-looking.

We imagine a cobbler at the Gucci workshop lovingly hand-stitched these probably very good-quality sneakers together, then put them on their feet and went skiing through some dust outside. Then maybe they got them wet and went at the suede with a toothbrush to really grind the dirt in.

And for the pleasure of looking like you picked up the dirtiest pair of kicks you could find at the local Vinnies, it’ll only cost you US $870 (AU $1224). Bargain, right?
