Golf pro Lee Westwood has settled his divorce with former wife Laurae at the 11th hour rather than go to trial in Palm Beach County court.
The proceedings had great potential to get ugly; Lee, 44, has racked up considerable assets. His net worth is about $65 million and is augmented by an income of $6.5 million per year from sponsorship deals.
The reasons cited for the dissolution of the marriage are still in dispute. Laurae claims that Lee cheated on her, but he has steadfastly denied these allegations.
The pair originally met in the 90s through Graham Wylie, owner of the Close House golf course and husband to the sister of Lee’s latest squeeze, 40-year old model Helen Storey. Lee and Helen were living together only a few months after the golfer split with Laurae in 2015, perhaps lending a measure of credence to Laurae’s claims that Lee was not truly committed to the marriage.
