Florida Missing Children's Day

On Monday, September  12, 2016,  Florida’s Missing Endangered Persons Information Clearinghouse Advisory Board will host the 18th annual Florida Missing Children’s Day in Tallahassee at the Florida Capitol, Capitol Courtyard.

Florida Governor Rick Scott and FDLE Commissioner Rick Swearingen will preside over the ceremony.

Each year on the second Monday of September, Florida takes the opportunity to remember, recognize and shine a light on those who cannot do so for themselves – the more than 4,000 missing and abducted persons who have not made their way home in Florida.

The Florida Missing Children’s Day ceremony is a day in which Florida brings attention to the segment of our population needing the most help. It is also a day in which the organization recognize those in law enforcement, public safety and the general public who made a difference in the fight to locate the missing during the past year.

It is also a day to provide support and hope to victim families who continue their search for a missing loved one.

The Florida News Channel will broadcast the ceremonies LIVE beginning at 10am. You can watch the ceremonies HERE

A child safety fair will begin at 9 a.m. in the plaza area of the Capitol. Children will have the opportunity to be fingerprinted and receive child safety literature.

The media and public are invited to attend.
