Fewer Showers and Storms – For Now

fewer showers

South Florida will begin the month of August with fewer showers and storms, but that won’t last. Look for a few quick showers Monday morning, followed by the chance of an afternoon storm or two (especially inland). Monday’s highs will be in the low 90s.

We’ll see the return of showers and storms on Tuesday as we’re affected by moisture associated with a developing disturbance that will pass well to our south. Tuesday will bring passing showers and storms, heavy rain in spots, and highs in the upper 80s.

Showers and storms will linger early on Wednesday before giving way to clouds and just a hit-or-miss shower. Wednesday’s highs will be in the upper 80s.

Rain chances will decrease on Thursday as we move back into a pattern of isolated afternoon storms. Thursday’s highs will be near 90 degrees.

Faith Based Events

Friday features much drier air, hazy skies, just the chance of a stray shower, and highs in the low 90s.

two_atl_5d0In the tropics, the disturbance in the western Caribbean appears better organized. The National Hurricane Center gives it a high chance of developing into a depression as it moves toward the Central American coast and eventually enters the Gulf of Mexico.

The NHC gives the wave in the central Atlantic virtually no chance of developing.
