(Taplin Development Corp.)

The Taplin Development Corporation, led by noted Florida real estate developer, Jack Taplin, has received approval to construct a Class A mixed-use development project in Hallandale Beach, Florida. A groundbreaking is expected in the first quarter of 2020.

The Falls at Gulfstream will be an upscale high-rise property which will include 320 condo-style rentals with home offices, luxurious condo finishes and amenities including a Vegas-style resort pool and bar concept and room service.

Covering 1.83 acres and located on the west side of U.S.1, across from Gulfstream Park, the Falls at Gulfstream will also contain a luxury brand upscale hotel with 140 rooms and a 6,600 square foot ground floor retail component that will include a farm-to-table concept restaurant with banquet and meeting space. The 23-story building will also offer a rooftop bar overlooking the finish line at Gulfstream Park.

The property is adjacent to the Village at Gulfstream Park, an upscale shopping center that features trendy shops, modern eateries and a casino, plus nightlife and a racetrack. The Falls at Gulfstream site will boast excellent views into the neighboring Village at Gulfstream Park from the east and upper floors of the tower will have ocean views looking out onto Hallandale Beach and Ocean Drive.

“We are currently seeking Opportunity Zone Joint Venture Equity to meet the end of the year zone deadline,” said Taplin. “This site certainly meets the ‘location, location, location’ test. In addition to being across the street from Gulfstream Park, it is also near Aventura Hospital, Bluesten Park and the Aventura Mall.”

With more than 30 years of experience, Taplin is considered a visionary among his peers for creating lifestyle developments. His area properties include The Falls at Marina Bay (376 units); The Falls of Pembroke (450 units); Harbour House Bal Harbour (850 units); Mason Macobe, Florida Keys, Marina Resort (176 yacht Slips); Marina Bay Resort; Maritime Office Building; and the TRYP by Wyndham Maritime Fort Lauderdale.

Taplin is a second-generation Florida real estate developer, powered with progressive years of work experience and verifiable success in directing site selection, architecture, facilities maintenance and property management, value engineering and construction management. He’s the creator of “Where living and yachting is a year-round vacation.”
