South Florida will see showers and storms on Wednesday, along with summerlike heat. Look for passing showers and developing storms, especially in the afternoon and evening. Some of those storms could be strong, with periods of heavy rain, gusty winds, and dangerous lightning. Wednesday’s highs will be in the muggy upper 80s.
The NWS adds the main concern will be frequent lightning strikes and gusty winds over 50 mph. However, isolated tornadoes are not out of the question along the east coast as storms interact with the east coast sea breeze. Hail and locally heavy rainfall are also concerns.
Some showers will linger early Thursday, but drier and somewhat cooler air will work its way in. Thursday’s highs will be in the mid 80s.
Friday will feel like spring, with dry conditions, morning lows in the 60s, and highs in the low to mid 80s. That will be our pattern through the weekend, with refreshing morning lows, highs in the seasonable mid 80s, and plenty of sun on both Saturday and Mother’s Day
